The Taping of the Shrew?Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008 3:50 AMOne wonders why, when conservative opponents have already cast her as a shrewish sort, Hillary Rodham Clinton thinks sniping at Barack Obama is working to her credit. And, in fact, her recent mockery of Obama's words as being unrealistic can only backfire, since that's basically the Bush Administration line - that critics are being unrealistic and believe in a fantasy world. She's found her own voice, all right. And the message is, 'sit down, shut up, and let your betters handle things, you uppity peasant.' The Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life in America finds that Christianity - notably the Roman Catholic (-7.5%) and Baptist (-3.7%) faiths declining in overall numbers - while more Protestants are identifying themselves as 'non-denominational,' and 16.1% of Americans are identifying themselves as 'unafilliated' (+8.8%). Short post today, due to lack of sleep (mostly from flipping my schedule back and forth from doing the Dawn Patrol to Wondercon and back) and a small dose of apathy.
