An Inconvenient Moment For Al GoreFriday, Oct. 12, 2007 2:53 AMA British court has ruled that Al Gore's treatise on global warming, 'An Inconvenient Truth,' is 'broadly accurate,' but contains 'nine significant errors' - and is flawed because of its extremism and alarmism. This comes at the same time as word that Gore is up for the Nobel Peace Prize. Ooops. Update: Gore has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in conjunction with the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Gore says he will donate 100% of the award funds to the Alliance for Climate Protection, a group dedicated to changing public opinion in the U.S. and around the world about the urgency of climate change. Not satisfied with suggesting women shouldn't have the vote, right wing harpy Ann Coulter recently observed that, "No, we just want Jews to be perfected, as they say. ... That's what Christianity is. We believe the Old Testament, but ours is more like Federal Express. You have to obey laws." A moment later, she denied that her remarks were offensive, saying that Christians were, essentially, perfected Jews, and that, ""We consider ourselves perfected Christians. For me to say that for you to become a Christian is to become a perfected Christian is not offensive at all." Today's Orwellian Double-Speak Moment is brought to you by the Evangelical Christians: We're Double Plus Good!
