Only 365 Days Until Christmas!Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007 10:42 AMForget Baby Jesus! Get up at 6:00 AM for our fabulous Day-After-Christmas Sale! The so-called 'War on Christmas' isn't the work of the liberals, or people saying 'Happy Holidays' instead of 'Merry Christmas.' It's the rampant consumerism that has people believing holiday gifts are now $100 phones, $1500+ HDTV sets, and $400 game consoles. I thank God for a niece who asked for the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and a godson who asked for Tinkertoys. (Actually, when asked what he wanted for Christmas, my godson - who is not yet in preschool - replied, 'Everything!') Premier Election Systems (formerly Diebold) tells us their new, improved voting machines should be ready for use in 2008. Of course, they're still telling us that their system with no external paper audit is perfectly reliable. Trust the magic box. The magic box will solve all your problems. You don't need to think - the magic box will think for you ... And, of course, now that Christmas is out of the way, we can get back to candidates trying to convince us they're the right choice. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton has an online ad campaign called, "The Hillary I Know ..." But if we don't have an accurate picture of you from your votes and your speeches, why the hell do you think smarmy personal testimonials are going to sell me on voting for you?
