Trees / Critical PressSaturday, Feb. 18, 2006 12:16 AMIt appears the Stanford Tree was more of a potted plant at a recent game. Consequently, the student wearing the costume has been re-leafed of duty, and the band will appoint a new tree next month. I wonder if that counts as a case of tree-UI. (But seriously, folks, upon mentioning this item to Bindyree, we kicked off a pun fest that went for over 20 minutes.) Critics in the media have lambasted Vice President Dick Cheney for breaking his silence over last weekend's hunting 'accident' by granting an exclusive interview to FOX News' Brit Hume. I don't have a problem with that. What I do question is Hume's comments after-the-fact about Cheney's sincerity, which cross the line from objective reporting to a personal testimonial as to the Vice President's character.
