Won't You Stay ... Just A Little Bit Longer?Friday, Aug. 13, 2010 3:51 AMJudge Vaughn Walker has lifted his stay on same-sex marriages. However, that decision will take effect at 5PM on Wednesday, August 18. This gives the folks who are still whining about 'overriding the will of the voters' and 'judicial activism' to file a request for a stay with the 9th District Court, which will be hearing the appeal on Walker's decision. Time that would be better spent, I feel, actually reading Walker's ruling and getting their brains around some important details, particularly the parts that explain why a majority vote is inconsistent with constitutional liberties, and where the case against same-sex marriage was lacking. I'll be busy with a work-related matter on Monday, so there won't be a post that morning.
