So Safe, So Free?Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010 3:53 AMFrom the Stay Classy Department, none other than Rush Limbaugh, clearly back in top form after his little medical mishap over his Christmas vacation, wondering if President Obama's promise of humanitarian aid to Haiti included an apology. Not far from Rush is televangelist Pat Robertson, whose insight into the workings of the Almighty is that the earthquake is the ultimate consequence for the Haitians having sought independence from the French ... way back in the 1800's. The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled against televised coverage of hearings on the constituionality of California's Proposition 8 ... on the grounds that Judge Vaughn Walker hadn't formally requested approval for his plan to 'tape delay' proceedings and make them available via YouTube. Among those dissenting, Justice Stephen Breyer noted in his opinion that, ".. the public interest weighs in favor of providing access to the courts." The same security process that failed to catch Umad Farouk Abdulmutallab nonetheless manages to identify and search the dreaded terrorist Michael Winston Hicks. Mikey Hicks is an 8 year-old Cub Scout from New Jersey.
