Losing Their MarblesWednesday, Sept. 30, 2009 3:46 AMFrom yesterday's Senate Finance Committee hearings on pending healthcare reform legislation, there's Senator Charles Grassley with this gem: "Government isn't a competitor ... it's a predator." Um ... you are a part of that government, aren't you, Senator? Yesterday's vote also concluded without a public option being part of the approved amendments. At the Taking Back America confab in St. Louis, Rep. Trent Franks (R-Arizona) told his audience that, "... we need to realize he (Obama) is an enemy of humanity." That's the kind of nutcase bluster I expect from a militia member, not a sitting member of Congress. Speaking of nutcase bluster, there's Lou Dobbs, waxing paranoid about Cass Sunstein's appointment as President Obama's 'gun czar' and being personally responsible for taking away your guns. Except Sunstein's job has nothing to do with guns or the Second Amendment. He's heading up the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, pursuant to Executive Order 12866.
