Image Correction?

Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009 3:53 AM

I'm more than a little disturbed by the media trend of legitimizing FOX News' Glenn Beck, who is Time Magazine's latest cover boy, and Katie Couric's first choice for a one-on-one interview on CBS.

Come on, people. You're telling me a loon like Beck, who is part of FOX News' shameless and partisan promotion of the 'tea party' protests; someone who has gone on the air ranting about socialism, fascism, and holding a kaffe-klatsch with Chuckles the Ninja on how people like them are going to defend the Real America; and a man who has on-air crying jags in between joking about poisoning the Speaker of the House deserves some kind of soft-pedaled 'real guy' image makeover?

Because that's what it is - a desperate attempt to rehabilitate Beck's image as sponsors abandon ship in light of increasingly erratic behavior.

Similarly, what the fuck is former, disgraced Congressman Tom DeLay doing on 'Dancing With The Stars'? when he should be wearing an orange jumpsuit?

Who's next, Phillip Garrido?
