"I think this is one of the most critical moments in American history. We are living in a period where we are surrounded by paganism," Gingrich opined. Let's check the scoreboard. Who was it that ignored warnings about al-Qaeda, launched a war against Iraq on false pretenses, ignored warnings about Hurricane Katrina, ignored the Constitution, tortured prisoners, and drove our economy into a ditch? Oh, yeah - that would be the Christians. The same folk who are busy telling us what a shiny Christian place America is, and that the grubby parts are all because of illegal immigrants, gays/lesbians, and pagans. This is the same load of crap Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell tried to push after 9/11 - that it was all the fault of the gays, liberals, secularists, and pagans. Gingrich also went on to note that, "I am not a citizen of the world. I am a citizen of the United States because only in the United States does citizenship start with our creator." Because ... God didn't make the rest of the world? You're not a citizen unless you've had a dunk in the baptismal font? Only Christians can be citizens? Citizenship, like life, begins at conception?
