Musical Chairs?Friday, Mar. 06, 2009 3:56 AMA number of geniuses in the media and on the intertubes pointed out that, gosh, Hillary Rodham Clinton wasn't included in yesterday's healthcare summit with President Obama. So what? Really, who cares? Healthcare in this country is a critical issue, and you're pissing and moaning about whether or not Hillary has a seat at the table, because she fronted her husband's effort at addressing the problem? If you thought she did a great job and We Just Didn't Listen To Her, that's one thing - though that was over a decade-and-a-half ago. On the other hand, if you disliked her and her ideas, why the frack do you care if she's part of the summit? The California Supreme Court heard arguments pertaining to Proposition 8, and now has 90 days to issue its ruling. I'm not certain I agree with the fuss over whether Proposition 8 qualifies as an amendment or a revision to the state constitution; that's a procedural issue being used as a means of upholding or overturning Proposition 8 without addressing the substance of the measure. To me, the question is whether or not it is discriminatory, and whether or not a majority vote of any kind should be allowed to stand as a precedent for taking away rights from anyone.
