Tax and Spin?

The situation in India isn't fully resolved, but Manmohan Singh, India's Prime Minister is already pointing fingers in the general direction of Pakistan, blaming forces "outside the country" for the attacks.


When I was growing up, kids were taught that if you couldn't play nice, couldn't behave - you weren't allowed to play.

And with all due respect to the major religions, how is it that their creeds seem to be one of the primary justifications for aggression? It seems we're always hearing 'turn the other cheek, but not in this particular case.'

And, no, 'you'll understand when you're older,' isn't an acceptable answer.


Sarah Palin's interview last week in front of a guy slaughtering turkeys either shows her to be completely clueless and oblivious to her surroundings, or that her prediliction for hunting has left her without any empathy for animals.

Of course, for her staff to approve the interview location in the first place doesn't exactly cast them as the brightest bunch on the PR front.

It's a bad sign when your handlers need handlers.


I hate to say it, but the first-minute shoppers rushing to find bargains only shows what short attention spans we have as a nation.

We've already spent $700 billion this holiday season buying Christmas presents for corrupt corporate executives. Economic stimulus - unless accompanied by cuts in spending elsewhere - is always at the expense of the taxpayer.

Word on the street was that Sarah Palin was not listening to her handlers anyway, so to have their heads candled wouldn't make any difference. Palin's quite a piece of work. Or, a piece of *something*...
