Encore Performance?Tuesday, Jun. 24, 2008 3:49 AMWhile everyone else is thrashing McCain over advisor Charles Black's comment that another terror attack would be a good thing for his campaign, let's throw this out onto the floor. Why, exactly, would another attack - an unquestionable failure of the ridiculous, 'we're fighting them there so we don't have to fight them here' concept, as well as the assertion that secret wiretaps are the bulwark of our defense - be of any benefit to the pro-Bush crowd before the election? The only reason it would stand in their favor is if we all decide to be afraid - again - and allow a bunch of war criminals to continue to dictate the nation's course. There are reports that the truce between the Israeli government and Hamas has ended after less than a week, after Palestinian rockets struck southern Israel. The rocket attack was by a splinter group claiming retaliation for the death of one of their members in an Israeli raid. According to NASA scientist James Hansen, we're past the tipping point of global warming. Signs include drought, floods, hurricanes, melting polar ice, and a healthy dose of 'I told you so.'
