Ralph EdwardsThursday, Nov. 17, 2005 9:23 PMVeteran radio and television producer Ralph Edwards passed away on Wednesday, at the age of 92. Edwards was best known for creating the program, This Is Your Life, though he was reported to have told his staff he'd, "fire the lot of 'em," if they made him the subject of an episode. Edwards also developed the show Truth or Consequences, which was later hosted by Bob Barker (now of The Price Is Right fame). He also produced several game shows, including CrossWits and $100,000 Name That Tune. In more recent years, viewers who haven't tuned out during the credits may recall seeing Edwards' name as part of Ralph Edwards/Stu Billet Productions on shows such as The People's Court. And, in a follow-up to yesterday's post, a bipartisan group of senators has announced their opposition to the 'revised' version of the USA-PATRIOT Act, claiming does not adequately address citizens' concerns about privacy and civil liberties. Senators, thank you for listening.
