Fail Faisal Shahzad, the 'Times Square Bomber' promised further attacks on America even as he was sentenced to life in prison.

Cue scary video from the FBI.

So, let's say terrorists manage to pull off another attack. Ready to surrender? No? How about they pull off a dozen such attacks? How about now?

Let's be honest - the fear parade isn't about toppling America, because that's just plain ridiculous. It's about using fear to effect a change in policy or the political landscape.

In which instance, the terrorists have enjoyed rousing success, because we're jumping to attention the moment some incompetent with terrorist ambitions makes the vaguest of threats, and our government continues to beat the fear drum.
