Writer/Producer M. Night Shyamalan appeared on CBS' The Early Show to promote his upcoming film, The Last Airbender, based on the Nickelodeon cartoon series.

Props to anchor Erica Hill for asking Shyamalan about the 'racebending' controversy the film's casting has kicked off, but a downcheck for not following through on Shyamalan's pat answers:

- It's just a small group of about 3,000 people. (As opposed to what, the legions of true M. Night Shyamalan fans?)

- The faces in the cartoon series are 'racially ambiguous.' (No, they're not.)

- Dude! I'm ethnic! You should be happy for me! See my film! Buy my toys!(And some of my best friends are ...)
