GrayThurdsdayBlackFridayCyberMonday.

Get a grip, people. It's media-driven, Pavlovian consumerism.

So the other week, some members of the GOP put forth a proposal for a 'purity check' - candidates running under the GOP banner would have to uphold a number of ideological lynchpins in order to receive the GOP's endorsement/support.

But the whole smarmy mess starts by denouncing President Obama's 'socialist' agenda.

If you can't recognize actual socialism, I can't imagine that your other ideological principles are worth a damn. This is nothing more than the fruitcake wing of the GOP trying to hijack the party. (Said wing includes professional mouthpiece Mary Matalin, who opined that the measure was a good idea.)

Half-term Governor Sarah Palin bailed out of a 5K fun run over the Thanksgiving holiday. She claimed she wanted to avoid the crowds at the end of the event.

And Celtic Diva, an Alaskan blogger, is bringing attention to how the former governor is getting around for her 'bus tour'.

She's flying on a chartered plane.

In other words, the 'bus tour' is a stunt. She's not traveling across the country on a bus, she's flying and hooking up with the bus at each stop.
