Hiding Under The Bed

Continuing the GOP whine fest about how dangerous men like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed are, and how we dare not try them in criminal court, is Rep. John Shadegg (R-Arizona), who wondered what New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg would say when the terrorists kidnapped his daughter. Or a court clerk, or a member of their family.

Rep. Shadegg, why are you doing the terrorist's work for them, not only responding with groundless fears, but elevating the terrorists to semi-sacred icons for their followers?

Oh, but woe! The terrorists might get off on a technicality, the pearl-clutching set warns.

Like WHAT? That government officials ignored federal law and international treaty to engage in a program of torture, including a media blitz as they sought 'moral clarity'? That kind of technicality?

The only thing that would jeopardize would be the evidence gathered through torture - which has so far proven to be irrelevant and/or useless, and the careers/reputation of the people who both ordered and carried out that torture.
