Where No Man Pursueth?

Lawyers for former BART Police officer Johannes Mehserle return to court today to argue for a change of venue, claiming that the knowledge of the case is too widespread, and that a majority of residents in Alameda County have already made up their minds.

Of course, it doesn't help the perception of guilt when you're caught on tape shooting an unarmed man who is lying on the floor and then fled to Nevada and had to be extradited.

On the other side, all of the yahoos who decided that trashing store windows and setting fire to things was the proper exercise of free speech? Congratulations - you're a major factor in the change of venue argument.

The Blue Angels arrived at SFO yesterday afternoon and will be rehearsing for their annual weekend show over San Francisco Bay over the next couple of days.

I'm waiting for San Francisco stupidvisor Chris Daly to open his yap with his annual complaint about safety/noise.

Jon McNaughton, a Utah-based artist, has painted, 'One Nation Under God,' which portrays Jesus Christ standing with a crippled child, a soldier, and various historical figures, while, off in the corner, Satan keeps company with a 'liberal journalist,' a lawyer, and a scientist clutching a copy of Darwin's On the Origin of Species.

McNaughton claims the work was inspired by a vision he had.

Maybe the folks over at the Conservative Bible Project can hire him to depict Christ in all his intellectual force and non-liberal glory.
