Klein Bottle?

Tuesday, Jul. 28, 2009 3:54 AM

I'm extremely disappointed in CNN President Jonathan Klein's about-face in regards to the 'birther' controversy.

After Lou Dobbs devoted a portion of his program to this conspiracy theory and then accused critics of being 'limp-minded liberals,' Klein stated that the story was 'dead,' and that 'anyone who is still not convinced doesn't really have a legitimate beef.'

But the next day, Klein said that he wasn't instructing staff to drop the story, and praised Dobbs' editorial experience - experience that seems to have gone completely AWOL when it comes to assessing the veracity of conspiracy theory nutjobs.

Perhaps we should just wait for Dobbs to have his Dan Rather moment.
