A Show of Disrespect

You'd think that in the eight years he's had the duty of doing so, someone would tell our esteemed president that his hyuck-hyuck head bobble and shrug is not the way to pay homage to the memory of our fallen soldiers.


Neither is Senator John McCain's opposition to the new G.I. Bill. McCain believes improved benefits should be available based on length of service, not mere veteran status.

Given that we've been requiring multiple tours-of-duty from our troops and playing shell games with both time-at-home and drawdown schedules, McCain's position is nothing but a further slap in the face to the men and women on whose backs Bush's War is being fought.


Farewell to director Sidney Pollack, who has passed away from cancer at age 73.
